The beginnings
1940
In a small workshop in Austria, Arido's story begins with a passion for traditional costume and craftsmanship.
Founding of Heinz Ginzel & Co.
1942
In the middle of World War II, the wholesale company Heinz Ginzel & Co. is founded. It soon has over 100 employees and starts producing shirts, blouses, and ladies' underwear in Vienna.
Renamed to Arido
1956
After the war, the company grew rapidly. A new factory building in Wiener Neustadt was acquired, and the company was henceforth known as Arido Heinz Ginzel & Co.
ARIDO Bekleidung GmbH & Belvedere brand
1998
The company is renamed ARIDO Bekleidung GmbH & Co. KG. In 1999, the Belvedere brand, including ties and scarves, is added to the product range.
Founding of Arido Hemden Manufaktur GmbH
2002
Operational activities are outsourced, and Arido Hemden Manufaktur GmbH is founded, focusing consistently on quality, craftsmanship, and Austrian design.
